Operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) arrested Friday a single mother, who allegedly allowed her minor daughter to tape lewd videos and photos that were being sold online.

Senior Supt. Jack Wanky, acting city director of BCPO, said the operation was conducted at the suspects’ house in Barangay Handumanan, in the city.

Wanky said the operation was conducted following the recovery of lewd videos and photos of the minor from the laptop of a foreign national, who was recently nabbed in the United States.

ANGAT Pilipinas, a non-government organization, is planning to have its national launching in Bacolod City on October, this year in time for the Masskara Festival, its founding president said.

Marlon C Maranon, its founder and president, said ANGAT stands for Alliance for National Growth and Transformation.

“It is not just a private group. ANGAT Pilipinas aims to create a funding and business mechanism for its members and also for other Filipinos across the country, to become self-sustainable.”

A grim prospect looming in the horizon of the sugar industry is the unresolved problem of High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) importation. It has further reduced the prices of domestic sugar at P1,250 which has drastically reduced the income of small planters and farmers specially the ARB's spiraling them into despair. The survival of the sugar industry is not only threatened but it will soon die or collapse because of HFCS importation. The Negrenses are now suffering the brunt of this vicious economic cycle, Who will save us from this despondent situation?

Binalbagan town and Bago City became the latest local government units in Negros Occidental to answer the province-wide call to boycott Coca-Cola products.

In Executive Order No. 20, Bago City Mayor Nicolas Yulo ordered the prohibition of “the promotion, advertisement and sale of Coca- Cola products in specific areas and events in Bago.”

Eleven drug personalities were arrested, while two were able to escape, in separate drug bust operations in Bacolod and other parts of Negros Occidental, Friday.

In Purok Sigay in Barangay 2, Bacolod, Emil Nicolas, 54 of the place and Cris Alicante were arrested Friday afternoon by Police Station 2 operatives.

A small and two elongated sachets of suspected shabu were taken from them.

The former police officer and former NBI Bacolod man, arrested on April 19 by National Bureau of Investigation agents from NBI national in a food court at Rizal-Gatuslao Streets in Bacolod, was remitted to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) jail in Handumanan for a murder case.

Rodolfo “Boy” Gamuyao was also alleged by drug group bagman Ricky Sereño to be receiving drug money for Berya Drug Group.

He was charged for murder and gunrunning, according to NBI national agents who arrested him.

A farmer reported missing for two days was found dead floating in a creek at Barangay Malalungon in Sta. Catalina town in Negros Oriental on Thursday afternoon.

Police identified the victim as Samuel Quinilitan, 50, married and resident of Purok 1-A Kabulakan in Sta. Catalina.

He sustained a gunshot wound in the chest.

His dead body was found floating in a creek after he was reported missing for two days.

Police operatives are yet to determine the possible motive of the killing and the identity of the suspect or suspects.

Another motorcycle driver was killed in a road crash, this time in Hacienda Villarosa in Barangay San Isidro in Calatrava town Friday morning.

This fatal crash brought to seven fatalities in a week in Negros Occidental in at least eight road crashes in the province.

Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan, Calatrava PNP chief identified the fatality as George Limbaga Rabago, 53 and resident of Barangay Patun-an in the town. He sustained head and body injuries and died on the spot.
