The members of Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) of Bacolod City has approved the resolution of Councilor Caesar Distrito urging the offices of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) to immediately act on the rampant use of rugby by street children flocking the streets in the city.

Six personalities were arrested in separate drug busts in Pontevedra, Sagay, Victorias and Bago cities Monday.

Police operatives of Ayungon PNP raided the house of a drug suspect in Barangay Tiguib, in a town in Negros Oriental around 11:30 a.m. Monday.
Police Senior Inspector Romeo Cubo, Ayungon PNP chief identified the suspect as Dean Yee Amorganda, 54, single, resident of the place.

A man was found with gunshot wound on his body in Purok 10, Barangay Culipapa, Hinobaan town around 1:00 a.m. Monday.
Julie Bergunio, 52, resident of the place was found lying dead along the road at dawn Monday.
Purok President Fernando Gardoce Menito, 49, reported the incident to Hinobaan PNP under Senior Inspector Joemel Gonzaga.
He said that a shooting was heard earlier around 12:00 midnight at the place.
The suspect was unidentified who left the area after the shooting.
Two wanted persons for the crime of murder and rape were arrested in Silay City and Murcia Monday.
The suspect in Silay City was identified as Rojisus Banaban De La Cruz, “Alias Tongtong”, 36, resident of Purok Riverside, Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City.
He was arrested for the crime of murder by then Judge Reynaldo Alon of the Regional Trial Court, Branch-40 in Silay City dated December 18, 2007. No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

A motorcycle driver was killed when he bumped a Mazda dropside Canter running opposite direction in Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan City around 4:30 a.m. yesterday.
Superintendent Rhea Santos, Kabankalan City PNP Chief identified the victim as Edwin Caagoy Hecita, 54 years old, married, resident of Sitio Hinaponan, Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan City.

According the Dr. Carmela Gensoli, City Health Officer of Bacolod City, in 2015, there were 17 pregnancy among youth aged 10 to 15 years old; while those aged 16 to 19 years old have 1,539 pregnancies; or a total of 1,556. Last year, 2016, for aged 10 to 15 years old, there were 20 pregnancy; and those aged 16 to 19 dropped to 1,282 pregnancy, which is lower compared to the previous year.
