A fisherman was found dead around 6:00 a.m. Monday in Sitio Tanquinto, Barangay Mabini, Escalante City, Negros Occ.
Chief Inspector Rollie Pondevilla, Escalante City PNP identified the victim as Romeo Gamalerio Sante, 64, married, fisherman and resident of the place.
He was found by passersby at the seashore while they were preparing to go fishing.
He was believed attacked by cardiac arrest as no sign of “foul play” was found.
The victim leaves his house every morning to go fishing alone, it was told.

Two suspects were arrested by Victorias City PNP in a drug buy bust at Osmeña Avenue in Barangay 5, Victorias City, Negros Occ. around 9:10 p.m. Monday.
Superintendent German Garbosa, OIC police chief of Victorias City PNP identified the two suspects as Rommel Himatay Canlas, “Alias Piang”, 39, married, of Bangga Daan Banwa, Barangay 1, Victorias City. He is the number 1 in baseline watch list and former surrenderee during “Operation Tokhang;” and Jeson Tamon Albis, 26, single, of Hacienda Sta. Cruz, Barangay 20 also in the City.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Negros Occidental is set to launch a business mentorship program on June 29 for the province’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Senior Inspector Ronald Santillan, Murcia PNP chief identified the victim as Celso Bernabe Menoso, 53, of Sitio Wawa, Barangay Sta. Rosa, Murcia.
Menoso was watching television in their house that also also serves as a store or eatery serving “batchoy”.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the head and body and was rushed to Bacolod Adventist Medical Center in Bacolod City but declared dead-on-arrival.
