The Yellow team ruled over Blue squad by 14 pin falls to secure the championship title in this year’s Negros Press Club (NPC) Inter-Color Bowling Tournament 2017 held at Negros Super Lanes, Bacolod City recently.

Yellow scored a 3-game output of 1,394; while Blue got 1,380.

Team captain Hernan Garciniego of Yellow displayed mastery of duckpin bowling to level the highest individual score of 314 pfs, at the same time, lifting his team for the desired title.

Cadiz City-Jaguar Badminton Academy and the St. John’s Institute (SJI)-United Shuttler’s Alliance came out with huge performances when they dominated the recently-staged 1st Tan Kek Pin Memorial Cup held at Pohang Badminton Court in Bacolod City.

The St. John’s Institute-United Shuttlers Alliance dominated most of the division with nine tiles in the 1st Tan Kek Pin Cup 2017 Badminton held in Bacolod City last July 22 to 23, 2017.

Cadiz City-Jaguars coming next with eight titles; and Trinity with three. Other participants were Pohang Bacolod Tay Tung High School and St. Scholastica’s Academy.

Mia Manguilimotan and Pretzel Gigna Ong won the girls double Under 18 against Joy Pamela Lopez and Jacqueline Pantoja of Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS).

Almost thirty four (34) participants from the barangays of the Municipality of Pontevedra successfully completed the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NCI Course in a closing ceremonies held at the Pontevedra Gymnasium recently.

The 34 new graduates of TESDA SMAW NCI receive their Certificate of Completion accompanied by their respective parents from TESDA Provincial Director Joel M. Two senior citizens were robbed and stabbed dead by a lone suspect in Escalante City around 10:00 p.m. Sunday.

Police Chief Inspector Rollie Pondevilla, Escalante City OIC police chief identified the victims as Susana, 74, and Alfonso Morales, 75. Their room-for-rent business, Susana Inn, is located along the national highway in Purok Paglaum, Barangay Balintawak.

The victims sustained multiple stab wounds on their bodies but the fatal ones was a slash on their neck.

A riot among inmates erupted that caused the death of one inside the Negros Occidental Provincial Jail located at Barangay Tabunan, Bago City around 2:37 p.m. Sunday.

Senior Inspector Hercules Trigue, Deputy police chief of Bago City identified the victim as Nolan Debulgado Baldomar, 34, of Purok Kabugwason, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

The victim was brought to Bago City Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by attending physician.

He sustained injury in the different parts of his body after he was mauled by his fellow inmates, according to police.

Bacolod City Councilor Caesar Distrito said the city is implementing the Smoking Ban with two approaches to make it more effective.

Distrito said City Mayor Bing Leonardia had already issued an Executive Order convening the Bacolod Anti Smoking Taskforce.

The Taskforce is chaired by the Secretary to the Mayor Atty. Ed Cuansing representing the City Mayor, and co chaired by Coun. Caesar Distrito representing VM Elcid Familiaran.
