Sprint 4t Enduro upset top seed Rev-X Pantra, 83-82, last Friday in the semi finals of the 35 and below category of the Fil-Sino Inter-Color Petron Cup at Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

They will meet anew tomorrow with the winner advancing to the finals.

Meanwhile, No. 2 Sprint 4t Racer advances to the finals with a victory against Rev-X All Terrain, 90-81.

Burly Sukhraj Sekhon came up big at crunch time as he scored in the shaded area to give Sprint 4t Enduro 1-point lead.

He said, whether they admit or not, there is no other persons to point but the NPAs, led by Jose Maria Sison, who is enjoying comfortable living in the Netherlands, while the NPA rebels are sacrificing their lives in the heat of the sun, rain, hunger and fear or death when fighting with the government forces.

A food vendor was shot dead by two unidentified riding-in-tandem in front of Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital in Real Street, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental around 9:00 p.m. Saturday.

Police identified the victim as Darwin Bongcasan Cabetingan, 42, married, of Barangay Cadawinonan, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

He sustained gunshot wound in the head and three in the stomach and was declared dead-on-arrival at the same hospital.

A senior citizen was killed when he was hit by unidentified vehicle which sped away around 9:30 p.m. Saturday in Barangay Masaplod Norte in Dauin town, Negros Oriental.

Dauin police identified the victim as Barsiliso Tuayon Alagao, 72, single, of Purok 5, Masaplod Norte, Dauin, Negros Oriental.

Witnesses PablitoTacay, 52, of Barangay Masaplod Norte, Dauin and Pedro Engreso and Madilyn Jane Villanueva, both of Zamboaguita, Negros Oriental said that Alagao was a victim of hit-and-run by a multicab running towards east direction. The victim was crossing the road.

A tricycle driver was stabbed dead inside the public market of Isabela town located at Kenon Street, Barangay 9 around 1:15 a.m. Sunday.

Police chief Inspector Ruben Pajarito, Isabela OIC police chief identified the victim as John Rey Vicente Ledesma, 28, married, resident of Barangay 9 of the town.

He sustained stab wounds in the chest and died on the spot.

Police is conducting hot pursuit operation against the suspects and to determine the motive of the crime.*(CMG)

A drug pusher was arrested by Himamaylan City PNP in a buy bust in Purok 1, Barangay 4, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental around 8:45 p.m. Sunday.

Police Chief Inspector Antonio Benitez, Jr., Himamaylan City PNP chief identified the suspect as Herden Piansay Gayares, 38, married, resident of the place.

One small sachet of suspected shabu was confiscated from him in exchange of P500 marked money.

Four more elongated heat sealed sachets of suspected shabu with market value of P4, 500.00 were also confiscated from him.

A driver in Kabankalan City was stabbed dead by unidentified suspect in Tayum Street, Barangay 8, Kabankalan City around 11:50 p.m. Sunday.

Superintendent Rhea Santos, Kabankalan City PNP chief identified the victim as Jovanie Bilnas Gepanaga, 50 years old, single, resident of Barangay Tapi, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

The victim sustained stab wound in his back and was rushed to Lorenzo Zayco Memorial District Hospital but was declared dead about 12:15 a.m. yesterday, Monday.

As of yesterday, Monday, July 31, there were 15 violators of anti-smoking ban apprehended by the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO).

Pol Supt. Luis Acebuche, BTAO head said, out of 15, two are jeepney drivers, others are passengers. This is worth noting, he said, because the first to be oriented on the anti smoking ban were the jeepney drivers. The violators were issued with citation tickets for their penalty to comply with. After 72 hours, if they have not settled the penalty, they will be charged accordingly before the court, he said.

An ex-marine and his companion were arrested in drug buy bust with firearms and shabu around 5: 55 p.m. Saturday in Barangay Camp Clark in Isabela town, Negros Occidental.

Chief Inspector Ruben Pajarito, Isabela PNP OIC police chief of Isabela identified the suspect as John Michael Locsin Mendrez, 26, single, of Barangay Camp Clark and Jeffrey Lobrido Gentilizo, 29, single, of Barangay Lima-lima, all of Isabela town.

Mendrez was included in the top 10 watchlist of Isabela PNP and was subjected before in “Operation Tokhang”.
