An older brother was hacked dead by his younger brother in Sta. Catalina town, while another older brother was wounded in another hacking incident in Vallehermoso town, Negros Oriental last Saturday due to land conflict.

Police identified the victim in Sta. Catalina town as Pacifico Barot Ramirez, 79, married, of Purok 3, Barangay Manalongon in the town. He sustained three fatal hack wounds at the back of his head.

A couple was charged with possession of hand grenade after they were arrested in a raid at their residence in Sitio Buli, Barangay Mangoto in Pamplona town around 7:20 a.m. on September 27, 2017.

Police Senior Inspector Lynbert Yango, police chief of Pamplona PNP identified the couple as Chito Benida De La Rosa, and Narcisa Ib-ib, both of Sitio Buli, Barangay Mangoto.

Judge Winston Villegas of the Regional Trial Court issued the search warrant against the couple. Police confiscated one hand grenade from them.

The driver of a motorcycle was killed; and four tricycle passengers injured when they collided in front of a coal fired power plant office along Access Road in Barangay Tinampaan, Cadiz City around 8:40 a.m. Sunday.

Police Chief Inspector Rocky Desear, OIC police chief identified the victim as Samson Leonoras Ayori, 23, construction worker of Purok Narra 3, Barangay Tinampaan, Cadiz City.

He reportedly died on the spot due to head and body injuries. He was brought to Cadiz District Hospital and was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Lyka Garcia.

The provincial government of Negros Occidental has launched a contest for the development of a masterplan for the transfer of the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC) in anticipation of its impending transfer to bigger area in Talisay City.

Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr., yesterday said they have invited architecture students from the La Consolacion College in Bacolod City and Southland College in Kabankalan City.

Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) recently launched its Hotline: “Isugid Kay Sir Tsip” as part of its commitment to better serve the people in the city. “We want the police to be closer to the people and this is our own special way of connecting to them,” said Police Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, the Acting City Director of Bacolod City Police Office in a simple rite held at his Office.

A resident of Barangay Bagong Silang, Don Salvador Benedicto town in Negros Occidental was reportedly shot dead by an alleged Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade (now KAPATIRAN) member in a river at Sitio Tangkongan and Sitio Bayabasan in the barangay around 7:30 p.m. Sunday. He was with two other companions.

The victim was reportedly identified as Robert Selendron, of legal age, according to his younger brother Reynold. Another companion, their uncle identified as Mario Dulman also escaped and unhurt.
