After 2 months of temporary postponement, the Negros First DFL Men’s Open Championship finally got the nod to push for the Villa Angela FC- STI-West Negros University finals on November 26, 2017 at 3PM at the Pontevedra Football Field.

Bacolod City Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) Head Pol. Supt. Luisito Acebuche has requested Mayor Evelio Leonardia for additional 50 traffic enforcers to help implement traffic rules for the smooth flow of traffic.
Acebuche reported that last month, BTAO has collected P300,000.00 in fines from traffic violators, particularly motorcycles without documents and tricycles without business permit.
He also said, lot of Bacolodnons are already aware of anti-jaywalking law in the city.

The Bacolod City government will receive 1,150 scholarship slots from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
TESDA Director General Guiling Mamondiong informed Mayor Evelio Leonardia that his agency is giving the city government 150 slots for December, and another 1,000 slots for 2018.

A Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) member was arrested by Bacolod Police Station 8 and Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) operatives, with a firearm along Barangay Singcang-Airport at about 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Station 8 under Chief Inspector Roel Culanag identified him as JO1 Mark Christopher Rios, 31, native of Barangay Cansalongon, Isabela, and assigned at the Negros Occidental District Jail (NODJ) in Barangay Barangay Tabunan, Bago City.

A public elementary school in Barangay Payao in Binalbagan town, also being supported by the municipal government, won a top national award and two other national awards yesterday.
Binalbagan Mayor Emmanuel Aranda told NDB, Payao Elementary School was adjudged as the champion, in the entire country, in the 2017 National Search for Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Schools, elementary category.
It also emerged as the Nestle Water Leadership Awardee, and also Landbank Green Leadership Awardee.

This was the reaction yesterday of Councilor Wilson Gamboa, Jr. on the press statement of Councilors Caesar Distrito, Em Ang, Cindy Rojas and Dindo Ramos accusing him of violating the Bacolod City Sangguniang Panglunsod (SP) Internal Rules when he conducted a Public Hearing on House Bill no. 5857 declaring June 18 of every year as the Bacolod City Charter Day, instead of October 19 of every year (R.A. 7724), filed by Bacolod Congressman Greg Gasataya.
The Committee on Appropriations and Finance of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) has conducted the hearing for the 2018 Annual Budget of Bacolod City in the amount of P2.25 Billion and called for city departments to present and defend their budget.
Councilor Caesar Z. Distrito, Chairperson of the Committee on Appropriations and Finance said that they have scheduled three hearings and invited all city departments and other government agencies so that the committee will be able to justify their budgets in the deliberation of the city council.
