A total of P340,650 fund for the first transportation allowance for the last quarter of this year intended for 757 Person with Disability (PWD) beneficiaries was released by the City Government of Talisay.

Several combat gears were donated by PSSLAI, a loans and savings assosication, to the Police Regional Office (PRO) 6, which were turned over to PRO 6 Regional Director Chief Supt. Cesar Hawthorne Binag during a simple turnover rite at Camp Delgado in Iloilo City recently.
Donated gears included 1,500 tactical backpacks, 1,500 bandoliers and 1,500 tropical combat boots.
According to Binag, the equipment are for the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 personnel for their internal security operations.
A woman was killed while scores were injured when the Canter vehicle they were riding lost its brake and fell on a canal in the hinterland Barangay of Sikatuna in Isabela town, Negros Occ. Friday, last week.
The Canter was driven by Carlito Gemperoso, 43, of Valencia City, Bukidnon. It has passengers of ambulant vendors on their way to Sikatuna to sell their merchandise on its market day.
He voluntarily surrendered to Isabela PNP under Police Chief Inspector Ruben Pajarito.
The Canter was negotiating a curve when it lost its brakes.
A man who tried to pacify his friend having altercation with another man was stabbed, along with another person from the other group in Estado, Barangay 10, Victorias City at 11:30 p.m. Monday.
Police Superintendent Herman Garbosa, Victorias City police chief identified the victims as Ricarte Sonita Sabala, 34, married, of Hacienda Maria, Barangay 10, Victorias. He sustained stab wounds on his upper left rib and back.

A man who was entering his house was shot dead by unidentified suspect at Barangay 9, Tanjay City, Negros Oriental past 12 midnight Tuesday.
Police identified the victim as Leopoldo Retes, 55 years old.
He sustained gunshot wound in the chest and was rushed to Urgent Care Unit of Tanjay, but was declared dead on arrival by attending physician.
The suspect was already waiting for the victim in the area and immediately fled after the crime.
Tanjay PNP is investigating the shooting to determine the motive and possible identification of the suspect.*

Former Bacolod City Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson is filing a motion for reconsideration today before the House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal (HRET) seeking a reversal of its decision to dismiss his election protest against Congressman Greg Gasataya.
“I feel dismayed over the HRET decision,” Sayson said.
He said, the body had earlier issued two resolutions on his favor, “which shows that my petition passed the requirement of form and substance. Therefore, my petition was valid,” the former city official said.
