C’94 pinned down a respectable triple scores of 429-490-543 to tally 1,462 behind the quintuple bowlers of Toto Flores, Katoy Deocadez, Joms Sevilla, Jen Jamora, and Jolores Pabon in bracket “A”.

Two Bacolodnon players were among those who are set to make debut when the new season of the PBA Developmental League opens on January 18.

Gerard Castor and Spencer Pretta, who both hails from Bacolod City, were among the 124 players selected during the 2017 PBA D-League draft late last year that lasted through 18 rounds, the longest in five editions.

Pretta was picked by Zark’s Burger/Lyceum Pirates in the seventh round of the draft while Castor was drafted by Go For Gold/College of St. Benilde Blazers in the 14th round.

A driver was pinned to death when a Nissan truck hit his motorcycle while stopping, facing east around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday along McKinley Street near Rojo’s residence in the area.

Police Superintendent Noel Polines, Silay City PNP chief identified the victim as Ryan Villarias Jandongon, 17, single, of Hacienda San Isidro, Barangay Bagtic, Silay.

He sustained a ruptured head and died on the spot.

The suspect driver was identified as Moel Dionela Soto, 53, married, of Moises Padilla town, Negros Occidental.

A former policeman was killed after he shot it out with the members of Dumaguete City police in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday.

The incident happened during the buy bust operation at Bishop E.P. Surban Street in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental in front of Holy Child Hospital.

Police operatives identified the victim as Roderick Maquinta, of legal age, dismissed police of Dumaguete.

A husband who killed his wife Sunday in Sitio Sambag, Barangay Camandag, La Castellana, Negros Occ. was arrested by police in Moises Padilla town Tuesday.

The suspect was arrested at the house of his aunt, Elsie Sion at Hacienda San Reneo, Barangay Crossing Magallon, Moises Padilla through the information given by Barangay Kagawad Eduard Sion, also a relative of the suspect.

The suspect was identified by Police Chief Inspector Irma Teoxon as Juanito Sion Legaspi, 51, married, of Sitio Odiong, Brgy. Camandag, La Castellana.

Senior Member Salvador Escalante (2nd district) topped the recent list of the Sanggunian Panlalawigan of Negros Occidental in terms of the most number of ordinances and resolutions passed in 2017.

Based on the record provided by Atty. Maki-Angel Ascalon, Escalante, chair of the Committee on Finance, Ways passed 485 resolutions an d 19 ordinances and under Human Resource with 64 resolutions.

Two persons were killed and four others injured after a tricycle collided with a truck loaded with fishes in the national highway of Barangay Camingawan, Kabankalan City around 7 a.m. yesterday.

Police Superintendent Rhea Santos, Kabankalan PNP chief identified the victims as Cecelia PiancoVillaruel, 35, and 4 years old Blessed Lines Santillana, all of Barangay Taloc, Bago City. They sustained head and body injuries when their tricycle collided with the truck.
