Due to a long standing grudge, a man was stabbed dead by a suspect while having a drinking spree in a store in Barangay Kalombuyan, Bayawan City, Negros Oriental around 11:00 p.m. Sunday.
The victim was identified as Jerson Villanueva Gonzales, 32, of Purok 3, Barangay Kalumboyan, Bayawan. He sustained stab wound on his chest and was rushed to Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.
Police identified the suspect as John Dagohoy Asimayan, 23, single, of Sitio Abito, also of the barangay.
Three drug suspects were arrested by Victorias City Police and City Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) in a buy bust operation around 6:30 p.m. Monday at Carmen Street, Canetown Subdivision, Barangay 19-A in the city.

An elderly woman who frequently went out of her house to get vegetables every afternoon was found dead with slashed neck near a sugarcane plantation around 6:30 p.m. Monday in Barangay Patun-an, Calatrava town, Negros Occidental.
