Bohol is an island located between latitude 90 degree 30’ and 10 degree 15’ North, and longitude 123 degree 40’ and 124 degree 30’ East. With a land area of 4117/3 sq. kms., it is the tenth largest island of the Philippines, and lies in the middle of the Visayas. It is surrounded by other islands on all sides, and is thus shielded from the typhoons that often occur in the region, as well as from the heaviest rains.

Football continuous to gain ground in Sagay City as hundreds of football players are expected to gather in the 5th Sinigayan 7 A-Side Football Festival on March 10 and 11, 2018 at the Sagay National High School Football Field.

This event is part of the city’s annual celebration in honor of their patron, St. Joseph the Worker.

Among the categories to be competed are boys, girls or mixed 10, boys 13, boys’ 16, girls’ 18, 35 – Up Men, and 30 – Up Soccer Mom for Day-1 while, boys, girls or mixed 11, boys’ 15, boys’ 18, Women’s Open and Men’s Open.

A body was found half buried in the hilly portion of Sitio Pinapugasan 2, Barangay Pinapugasan, Escalante, Negros Occidental around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police Chief Inspector Rollie Pondevilla, OIC police chief of Escalante City PNP identified the victim as Danilo Homagdaw Banzon, 44, married, of the place.

He sustained a bashed head believed from a pointed object and four stab wounds in the body. He was already in a state of decomposition and half-buried under Mahogany and Eucalyptus trees covered with stones.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)–Bacolod has filed Tuesday violation of RA 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act against a father and his son who were arrested around 6:40 a.m. Tuesday in a raid at their residence in Purok Mataba, Crossing Magballo, Barangay Magballo, Kabankalan City.

One of the injured persons in the Cadiz City mishap on Sunday evening died around 3:00 a.m. at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City Tuesday.

This was reported by Crizelda Laguna to Cadiz police, mother of another casualty identified as Angelica Montierto Laguna, 27, and grandmother of Zian Niel Gonzales, 4 years old, all of San Antonio, Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod who both perished in the freak road mishap around 10:00 p.m. Sunday at Stop Oso, Barangay Burgos, Cadiz.

The Sugar Alliance of the Philippines (SAP) blames the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) for the drop in domestic sugar prices during yesterday's bidding.

"In the first place, SRA allowed the unregulated entry of 280,000 metric tons of high fructose corn syrup at the start of the current milling season. This directly resulted to the low sugar prices at the start of the crop year. Prices that were at P1,650 went down to P1,250, a drop of P400 per bag," the SAP said in its statement.

A painter and performance artist based in Bacolod City was stabbed dead yesterday morning, January 31, by the burglar she caught robbing her home.

The suspect, Sandy Sevilla, 27, a suspended security guard, admitted killing Nunistell Mae Fulo-Lee, 41, inside her house in Purok 6, Barangay Granada when she walked in on him around 6:30 a.m.

Fulo-Lee, a former member of the Bayanihan, the National Dance Company, died of 13 stab wounds.
