An unidentified body of a drowned man was found in the seawater in front of Sitio Malatapay, Barangay Maluay, Zamboanguita town, Negros Oriental around 3:45 p.m. last Tuesday.
The victim was wearing an Underarmour brand boxer shorts; black/blue shirt and was about 40 to 50 years old, with head lamp.
The victim was found by a boatman.

An elderly man was found by his children hanging in an Indian Mango tree beside their house in Sitio Lukay Village, Barangay Camigawan, Kabankalan City around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Police Superintendent Rhea Santos, Kabankalan PNP chief identified the victim as Elesio Guarino Quimpo, 70, widow, farmer.
She was found by his daughter, Ritchel Quimpo Olimpo, 31, after doing her laundry in a creek about 60 meters from their house.
She then informed her brother Rolando and detached the victim from the tree and reported the incident to police.

Negros Occidental aimed to be a “net exporter” of rice amid the provincial government’s efforts to increase its production and sufficiency level, Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. said yesterday.
The governor made the statement as he assured Negrenses that the province has enough rice supply amid continuing concerns on decreasing stocks.
“There is nothing to worry about,” Marañon said, adding that damage and losses brought by pests and calamities would not hurt local production much.
The counsel of Mayor Evelio Leonardia said the dismissal of the administrative and criminal cases against his client on the alleged anomalous procurement of PHP49-million worth of furniture and fixtures was both a vindication and an answered prayer.
“The mayor can now move on with his daily tasks without being distracted by these cases,” lawyer Joselito Bayatan said in a press statement.
