Gov. leads inauguration of road in Murcia

Gov. Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr. led the inauguration of the 900-meter Murcia-Granada road project and the unveiling of its marker in Brgy. Binitin, Municipality of Murcia, yesterday.


Gov. Marañon together with Murcia Mayor Andrew Montelibano, Vice Mayor Victor Gerardo Rojas, other municipal officials, Ming Yuan College officials and congregation of St. John the Baptist led by Rev. Fr. The project which costs P10,993,294 is funded by the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental through its special local road fund.

It is specifically located in Hacienda Binitin and is officially called as the Ming Yuan Avenue.

The activity started with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and blessing officiated by Rev. Fr. Regren Dequiña.

The Governor expressed his gratitude to everyone who made the project possible and urge the people to give thanks for all the blessings the province received through the years. He also hopes that the project will be of good use in terms of transportation and will specifically help those students going to Ming Yuan College who use the road everyday.

Mayor Montelibano thanked the Governor and the provincial government for the project granted to them and told the audience to appreciate all the efforts of the government for its people.

Rev. Fr. Lu also expressed his gratitude to the provincial and municipal government for the fulfillment of the project and thanked the Montelibano family for donating the land for the road.

After the inauguration, the governor also attended the ordination of Fr. Cui Yong Xing at the Congregation of St. John the Baptist Oratorium which was officiated by His Excellency Most. Rev. Patricio Buzon, S.D.B, D. D., Bishop of Bacolod.*(Capitol News)
