7 Explosives found, turned over to police
Seven pieces of explosives were unearthed in an excavation job purposely for a septic tank in Purok United, Barangay Fabrica, Sagay City around 5:00 p.m. Monday, in the residence of Romeo Cabahug Arais, 22, married.
One of the seven explosives ignited and caused slight harm to a minor.
Cabahug immediately informed Village Chief Merle Demavibas of Barangay Fabrica who called up the Sagay Police.
The police immediately secured the place and recovered the explosives for safekeeping.
Barangay Fabrica was a former Japanese garrison. Before the Japanese occupation, the Americans made the place as logging concession known as ILCO because it is located near the river.
Meanwhile, a resident of Catabla Baybay in Barangay Zone 4-A, Talisay City turned over his homemade firearm locally known as “sulpak” to Talisay PNP about 3:20 p.m. Monday.
Lolita Estilo Braciliño, widow, surrendered the firearm including two live bullets.*
