6 Negros LGUs to Get Fire & Rescue Trucks, Ambulance

Six local government units (LGUs) in Negros Occidental will receive fire trucks, ambulances and rescue truck in turn-over ceremonies today.

Bacolod Fire Marshall Supt. Rodolfo Denaga, spokesperson of the Bureau of Fire Protection in the Negros Island Region (NIR) said that Candoni, Hinobaan and Ilog will each receive one fire truck and an ambulance, Sipalay City will receive a fire truck and a rescue truck and Cauayan and Kabankalan City will each receive an ambulance.

The turn over ceremonies will be led by BFB- NIR regional director Fred Trajeras.

“Our regional director has requested that the mayors and the fire marshalls will be the ones to receive the vehicles during the ceremonies,” Denaga said.

The vehicles was donated by the Japanese government through the efforts of Chief Supt. Bobby Baruelo, officer in charge of the BFP.

Baruelo, during the his visit to the province last month, said that 312 local government units in the country still lack firetrucks.*
