Stabbing Victim Dies in Hospital
A laborer who was stabbed outside the dance hall of Barangay West in Candoni town around 1:30 a.m. Sunday died in the hospital Monday.
Senior Inspector Jaynick Bermudez, Candoni PNP OIC chief identified the victim as John Salvador, 22, of Purok Guinsiliban, Barangay Payauan also in the town.
He sustained stab wound on his back and was brought to Candoni Rural Health Unit and later transferred to Lorenzo Zayco Memorial District Hospital for treatment but was declared dead later.
His wounded companion was identified as Regine Obeda Francisco, 18, also a laborer and resident of Barangay Payauan. He sustained lacerations on both hands and is now in stable condition.
The two were attending the benefit dance in Barangay West, Candoni when the unidentified suspect harbored a grudge against them over a woman.
The suspect had waited for them outside the dance hall.
Bermudez said they have now the identity of the suspect but refuse to divulge his name pending arrest.* (Cyrus M. Garde)
