Misamis Occ. native shot dead in Himamaylan
An unidentified suspect shot dead a native of Misamis Occidental at Sitio Batang, Barangay Talaban, Himamaylan City around 2:00 a.m. Sunday, police report disclosed.
Police Chief Inspector Antonio Benitez, Jr., Himamaylan PNP OIC chief identified the victim as Jessie Despi Flores, 30, married, of Tuyabang Bajo, Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental.
He sustained gunshot wounds on his left shoulder and upper right chest and was rushed by the responding police and Himamaylan Rescue Unit at Governor Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. He was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Jezreel Gonzales.
Police investigation disclosed that the victim was with a companion identified as Raymund Emperado Aguyong, 40, single, laborer, of Sitio Saisi, Barangay Tan-awan, Kabankalan City. Onboard a rented tricycle to their workplace, Flores noticed that it was not towards that direction.
The victim reportedly argued with the driver and his companion. Sensing that something was wrong, the victim alighted but the companion of the driver alighted too and shot him several times. The victim’s companion Raymund Aguyong was able to escape.
He reported the incident to Himamaylan PNP who responded to the area to conduct investigation.*
