Protest Actions: PICKETS AT NBI, SRA

Supporters of the woman victim of spousal violence will also stage a series of protest actions aside from administrative complaint they have filed against her harsh treatment by NBI operatives who arrested her in Bacoor, Cavite and brought her to Bacolod, Gabriela - Negros Secretary General, Ma. Rina Amacio said in an interview yesterday. Amacio said NBI agents in Manila had unduly carried out an operation in December to arrest the woman - victim called Jade, by clambering up the fence in her temporary home in Cavite, like Japanese Niñas then brusquely brought her to their office.

They did not allow her to call her lawyer but treated her as a dangerous fugitive from justice who had committed a heinous crime when she had only fled Bacolod City because she feared for her life.

The threat is proven by a complaint she had filed as early as August last year, where she claimed in her complaint before the Bacolod City Police Office Women’s and Children’s Desk (WCPD), that she had experienced a series of psychological harassments ranging from gun poking, actual physical battering, and trauma as a result of her experience at the hand of her former lover, businessman Benedict Gochangco.

In her confinement at the BJMP Jail in Brgy. Handumanan. She breaks out into paroxysm of fear when she hears voices she believes to be that of Gochangco against her.

She had been ordered released by an RTC Judge after the city prosecutor dismissed the qualified theft charges filed by Gochangco against her for lack of probable cause. Her legal counsel, lawyer Rowena Guanzon has filed administrative charges against the NBI agents who arrested her in Cavite, through the local CHR Office, said Amacio.

But they are set to expose the shenanigans being done not only in the arrest of Jade but what she said were actions of the local NBI Officials related to cases filed against innocent respondents in cahoots with some parties, said Amacio.*
