Gabriela Women’s Partylist Representative Liza Maza was in Bacolod City yesterday as speaker at the Bayan Muna (People First) assembly held at the Sweet Captel.

Maza went to five leading Cities namely Cadiz, Victorias, Silay, Talisay and Bacolod for various speaking engagements in Bayan Muna Partylist assemblies in the province.

"She is hopping all over the province and visiting towns and cities where Bayan Muna assemblies are being held," said Ma Rina Amacio, Gabriela Secretary General.

Later in the afternoon, Maza paid a visit to a harassment victim at the Bacolod Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Barangay Handumanan.

Maza lauded the efforts of the local chapter of Gabriela in the province for supporting a lady who is up with a harassment case versus the member of a prominent family in Bacolod City.

Liza Maza who is a guest senatorial candidate in Manny Villar’s up slate along with Satur Ocampo who was in the city earlier, said they have received a warm welcome from the people and is looking forward to be here the next time around.

"We are in support of senatorial bets Liza Maza and Satur Ocampo come the 2010 polls," said Ma. Rina Amacio. "They are the ones who will bring forth positive changes and have proven themselves worthy in their stay as Partylist representatives of the people," Amacio added.*
