Opposition against escalating sugar prices by militant organizations composed of sugar workers’ groups, and other marginalized sectors, have declared thet they were vehemently against the government’s plan to import 150,000 metric tons of sugar in the coming months.

‘GIBO Means Hard-work’ - Ditas Teodoro

A former member of the Philippine Assembly during the Marcos administration and mother of presidentiable Gilberto "Gibo" C. Teodoro, "Mommy" Ditas Teodoro explained to a multi-sectoral gathering last night that the presidency of his son is a job of one person but a consolidation of all efforts for the country to move on.
NOPPO: Model Police Prov’l Office for 2009 In Western Visayas
In next week’s Philippine National Police Anniversary rites, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) will receive the award as Model Police Provincial Office for 2009 during simple ceremonies held at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City. 119 Cops from NOPPO, BCPO to Graduate with Masters Degree from USLS-Bacolod
Finally, after 20 months of career advancement studies at the University of St La Salle-Bacolod Graduate School, 119 police officers, including one non-uniformed personnel, will graduate this Saturday in line with the Project C.O.P.S. program.

WV 383-strong Delegation Leaves Feb 17 for CHED Nat’l Games

The 383-strong Western Visayas delegation of athletes, coaches, officials cultural and academic participants to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) National Games slated February 21-28, 2010 in Metro Manila is leaving tentatively on February 17. The contingent will take the Negros Navigation vessel to ferry them to Manila, three days before the opening of the sports competition.
