O’Fisher Spa Turns ‘One Year’ This Sunday
By Gil Alfredo B. Severino“At O’Fisher, it is more than just massage but wellness as a whole.”
Thus says Babes Fisher, proprietress of O’Fisher Spa and Wellness Center at Metrodome along Araneta Street Alunan Avenue who is upbeat about the first anniversary bash on Sunday, February 8.
“A weeklong 20 percent discount until February 14 will be given away which begins this Sunday. Cheese, wine, grapes and barbecue the whole Sunday evening will be available at the Spa, as well. It will all be started with a blessing at 11:30 in the morning before everything else,” Fisher said.
A nurse by profession, Fisher explained that a well-studied massage by a well-trained and experienced masseur brings medical benefits, “We thank the Lord that the Bacolod clientele accepted us. We will be one year this Sunday and O’Fisher Spa had employed a 23-strong masseur-therapist team serving clients with various techniques and other services that will lead to their total wellness.”
Wellness includes physical, emotional and mental aspect of human beings and since massage involves and convey the touch and listening care, studies reveal that healing is hastened this way.
Of which Fisher as a medical practitioner affirmed, “I am updated of latest in research related to my field. Research and experiments have shown that massage reduces stress and tensions. It is quite a need for people affected by the crisis that beset the country at such a reasonable price. It is even medically accepted now that special children demonstrate less erratic behavior if applied therapeutic massage.”
The University Of Miami School Of Medicine’s Touch Research Institute, researchers have found that massage is helpful in decreasing blood pressure in people with hypertension, alleviating pain in migraine sufferers and improving alertness and performance in office workers (holisticonline).
The same institute said, an increasing number of research studies show massage reduces heart rate, lowers blood pressure, increases blood circulation and lymph flow, relaxes muscles, improves range of motion, and increases endorphins (enhancing medical treatment).
“It is not THE treatment itself but it has foundational character which leads to treatment,” the study remarked.
Thus, O’Fisher Spa and Wellness Center was conceived this way and Bacolod had accepted their approach.*
