Another injured person in Cadiz mishap dies
One of the injured persons in the Cadiz City mishap on Sunday evening died around 3:00 a.m. at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City Tuesday.
This was reported by Crizelda Laguna to Cadiz police, mother of another casualty identified as Angelica Montierto Laguna, 27, and grandmother of Zian Niel Gonzales, 4 years old, all of San Antonio, Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod who both perished in the freak road mishap around 10:00 p.m. Sunday at Stop Oso, Barangay Burgos, Cadiz.
Mario Gonzales, 30, common-law husband of Angelica and father of Zian also died in the hospital bringing the fatalities to four with another passenger in the tricycle identified as Joanna Valero, 25, of Fortunetowne, Barangay Estefania, Bacolod. Injured were Mary Grace Castro, 24, single; tricycle driver Gregyn Palma, 49, married, and his daughter Cristalyn Joy Palma, 22, single, both of Barangay Burgos, Cadiz.
Police Chief Inspector Rocky Desear, Cadiz PNP OIC chief said that an Isuzu Canter running opposite going north swerved to the lane of the tricycle driven by Mario Gonzales onboard with four other passengers including the two fatalities on their way back home to Bacolod which they collided head-on.
The single Rusi 125 motorcycle driven by Gregyn with his backrider daughter also bumped the tricycle from behind due to the collision. They are going home in Barangay Burgos after attending the “2018 Dinagsa Festival”.
The Isuzu Canter was registered to Ramero Diosana of Rizal Street, Barangay 29, Bacolod used by Bernardo Company in their slaughterhouse business and reportedly driven by a certain “Tibor” who, until now has not surfaced.
The victims were brought to Cadiz District Hospital but the three were declared dead on arrival, while the injured were later transferred to a Bacolod hospital for further medical treatment.*
