Illegal possession of firearms vs. father and son filed
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)–Bacolod has filed Tuesday violation of RA 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act against a father and his son who were arrested around 6:40 a.m. Tuesday in a raid at their residence in Purok Mataba, Crossing Magballo, Barangay Magballo, Kabankalan City.
According to SPO3 Ramiro Gotucano, investigator on-case of CIDG they will file the cases against Rommel, 46, father and son Romnick Villarosa, 23, after several firearms and bullets were confiscated from them in a raid though search warrant issued by the court.
The suspects are reported toughies in the area and everytime they are drunk become uncontrollable and would fire indiscriminately.
They are also reported in gun–running business in the area.
Led by CIDG-Bacolod chief Senior Inspector Kim Dominic Gamboa augmented by Negros Occidental–CIDG, 4th Platoon of Negros Occidental Provincial Maneuver Force Company and Kabankalan City PNP arrested the two and confiscated one (1) 12-gauge shotgun with 19 live bullets and two empty shells; two (2) .45 calibers pistols with two magazine and 55 live bullets; one grenade; one Ithaca made .9mm with one magazine loaded with six live bullets and one 38 caliber loaded with six live bullets.
The older Villarosa is reportedly a caretaker of a mountain resort while his son is a security guard.
The suspects were detained at Kabankalan City PNP.*(CMGarde)
