Capitol turns over barangay insurance benefits
Negros Occidental Board Member Salvador Escalante, Jr. led in the turn over of checks worth a total of P410,000 to the beneficiaries of the Barangay Insurance Program for Barangay Tanods, Officials, and Employees, at the Provincial Capitol, Thursday.

The checks were personally received by the family-beneficiaries of the insured individuals coming from the different cities and municipalities of Negros Occidental who were also accompanied by their authorized barangays officials.
Insured were Aguinaldo Cabahug, Sr. of Sagay City, Jose Marie Combate and Eduardo Del Pilar of Victorias City, Allan Alejandrino of EB Magalona, Efraim Jamelo, Sr. of Silay City, Rolando Cortez of Bago City, Carmelino Gallego, Jr. of Pontevedra, Fernando Magallanes of Hinigaran, and Romelo Gustilo of Ilog.
To date, a total of 8,575 barangay tanods and 6,471 barangay officials in Negros Occidental are enrolled in the said insurance program.
