Binalbagan Holds IP Youth Leadership Program & 1st Nabulusan Festival

“In preservation of our cultural heritage, giving meaning, value, honor and importance the lives of indigenous people and as our brothers in Christ, they need our help and attention.”

This was the message of Binalbagan Town Mayor Emmanuel I. Aranda during the 2018 IP Youth Leadership Program and 1st Nabulusan Festival from February 2-5, 2018, with more than 2, 500 indigenous people participants from all over the country joining the 4-day activities.

Among the activities include: Opening of Dungog and 1st Nabulusan Festival 2018, Opening of Ritual and Exhibits, Situational Analysis & Dungog Roadmap, Press Conference, IP Youth Forum, Cultural Performances, Role & IP Youth, Engagements in Organizing IPYO’s, Thematic Creativity Workshop, Unity Walk and Reflections, IP Youth Network & Sustainability, Dungog 2018 Statement, Rehearsals for Nabulusan Festival, Solidarity Night Facilitators and Participants, Mass and Cultural Parade, IP Cultural Exchange, IP youth Leaders Meeting and Closing Program.

Provincial Board Member Alain S. Gatuslao, 5th District of Negros Occidental in behalf of Governor Alfredo G. Marañon in his inspirational message said, “In support to the IPs, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan will pass an Ordinance that every town and city will have an IP Sectoral representative in the Sangguniang Bayan, Sangguniang Panlungsod and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.” He will pass it through the House of Congress to be considered for immediate action and approval. He likewise assured the IP active participation and processes of needed requirements for legislation.*(Jun de los Reyes)
