'EXTEND TRAFFIC ISLANDS'. Aside from pedestrian lanes which are oftentimes ignored by motorists, these traffic islands provide safety to both motorists and pedestrians alike. These islands, small raised areas in the middle of the road that provide a safe place for pedestrians to stand and mark a division between two opposing streams of traffic, have helped lessen to a greater extent highway deaths and injuries from the old Bacolod airport to the GSIS area in Tangub. These islands must be extended further south before the bridge in Sum-ag where crashes and collissions frequently happen.* (Arman Toga photo)
