Farm worker hacked dead by colleague
A sugarcane farm worker was hacked dead by his fellow worker late Friday night in Hacienda Conchita in Barangay Camang-Camang in Isabela town.
Police Chief Inspector Ruben Pajarito, Isabela PNP OIC police chief identified the victim as Rene Grande Magdaluyo, 37, married, of Barangay Amin in the town.
He sustained hacked wounds on his neck and died on the spot.
Police identified the suspect as Ricen Yanson Estoya, 20, single, his colleague, also of the barangay.
Estoya was immediately arrested by barangay watchmen and was turned over to the Isabela police.
Police investigations disclosed that the two were having a drinking session after a day’s work when misunderstanding ensued. This was followed by an argument and a fist fight.
The suspect then got the cane cutter locally known as “tabas” and hacked the victim hitting his neck.* (CMG)
