Ayala Mall opens this October
“The Ayala Mall Capitol Central will open tentatively this October 2018.”
This was according to Mr. Gerald S. Wong the representative of the Business Development of Ayala Land, Inc.
Mr. Wong said that the Mall will open its doors in time for the MassKara Festival Celebration in October.
He also informed that Ayala Land, Inc. is willing to pay whatever taxes and fees that they owe to the City of Bacolod.
Mr. Giovanni Balalilhe, City Treasurer of Bacolod, informed the Committee during the public hearing, that based on their computation, Ayala owed the City P7 Million of taxes.
Under the contract of Ayala with the province, the former will be liable for payment on real property taxes to the city upon signing of the contract which was in 2013.
However, the province only actually turned over the property to Ayala in 2014 and the City Treasurer is awaiting for the legal opinion of the City Legal Office.
Previously, the property when they were still owned by the province, is exempted from payment of real property tax.
“We assure all investors that the City under the administration of Mayor Bing Leonardia is committed to do everything for them to experience ease in doing business,” Councilor Caesar Distrito, Chairperson of the Committee on Urban Planning and General Services said.*
