Negros Occ. to Host National Hog Convention
The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental led by Gov. Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr. will host the 25th National Hog Congress slated April 14 to 16, 2016 at SMX Convention Center, Bacolod City.

The event will be participated in by members and officers of the different hog raisers associations and paravets from all over the country.
The theme for this year’s event is “[email protected]: Putting Our Best Pork Forward”.
The organizing committee is spearheaded by the Provincial Veterinary Office led by Dr. Renante Decena, together with the Provincial Tourism Office, Provincial Information Office, and Special Programs and Concerns Division, among others.
Opening ceremonies and opening of exhibits will be at 10 a.m. on April 14, followed by seminars, lechon parade, and Governor’s Night at the Provincial Capitol Grounds.
On the second day of the convention, there will be a golf tournament at the Marapara Golf and Country Club, and series of seminars at SMX Convention Center, while backyard congress exhibit and some exhibition games will cap the activities on the last day.
Gov. Marañon said he hopes that the convention will have a positive impact to all hog raisers and generate a tourism boost for the province.
Present during the meeting were Eliseo Yu, chairman of the Pork Producers Federation of the Phils., Inc., Vicente Mercado, chairman of the National Federation of Hog Farmers, Inc., and Chona Mercado, Chester Warren Tan, Dolores Cube, Annabelle Ajero and Albert Alex Uson, among others.*(Capitol News)
