VCDRRMO Holds School Disaster Management Training
The Victorias City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (VCDRRMO) conducted a whole day School Disaster Management Training at the Victorias North Elementary School yesterday.

The training which is the pilot project of the City to activate the School Disaster Management Committee was attended by school heads, principals and focal persons of the different public schools in Victorias City.
VCDRRMO Head Rodolfo Retirado III was grateful for the support of the academe as he strongly encouraged everyone to cooperate with the City in its disaster preparedness efforts.
Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca emphasized the importance of helping one another in preparing for any form of disaster.
The Mayor motivated the mentors to perform their noble roles, share the important inputs on disaster management and cascade it to their faculty, students and the community.
The lecture on organization of school disaster management committee was given by VCDRRMO Consultant Jose Maria Vargas, including the country’s disaster profile, evacuation procedures and camp management roles and requirements.
It was followed by a workshop in the afternoon, where participants created their school compound plans and presented their outputs.*
