The unidentified body of a man was found in a secluded place in Purok Tumpok, Barangay Zone 15, Talisay City which is adjacent to Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City at 6:00 a.m. yesterday, June 2.

Police Superintendent Thomas Joseph Martir, Talisay City PNP OIC chief said, the victim has mutilated arms placed beside him in a box. His face was partly covered with bonnet and his mouth was sealed with a masking tape.

He was about 35 to 45 years old, sporting a semi-shaved head, wearing red shirt, maong pants and slippers.

Martir said the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) arrived in the area to conduct investigation.

The victim may have been killed somewhere and dumped in the area to mislead police investigation.

The box has an inscribed message in pentel pen in Cebuano dialect, saying; “Ako usa ka akyat bahay, kawatan, adik. Ayaw ko ninyo sunda kay kamo na pud sunod patyon. (I am an `akyat bahay’, a thief and drug addict. Don’t follow me because if you do you will are next to be killed).”

Police authorities are also investigating that early Wednesday afternoon, there was a commotion where an unidentified person was being chased towards Purok Tumpok by several other persons from Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago.

SOCO operatives recovered five empty cartridges of .45 caliber firearm and one slug of the same caliber in the area.
