Pa Shoots Son Dead

An enraged and jealous husband shot dead his son in a senseless altercation stemming from his suspicion that his wife was lending money in their subvillage and was having an affair. Shot dead according to Cauayan Town police investigator Alvin Cuen-ca, was Gabriel Galvan, who died from a bullet wound from .357 caliber revolver fired by his father, Moises Monday evening in Sitio Gawing, Brgy. Ilijan, Cauayan Town.

Criminal Charges Filed Uncalled for, Youth Leaders Assert

Youth leaders went ballistic condemning the filing of charges against them including violation of PD 808 and alarm and scandal which they said, attributed unduly to them during the last visit of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, even when they were at the hard end of police truncheons wielded by about 30 policemen, sent to disperse them while they were staying in the San Antonio Abad Parish Church compound near the former Bacolod Convention Plaza Hotel.

SP to Replace GMO Ordinance

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Negros Occidental deliberates on the crafting of a new ordinance that will replace Ordinance 007 that bans the anti-genetically modified organisms (GMO) products.
The new ordinance will be entitled as the “Sustainable Agriculture Ordinance of 2010.”

The Bacolod City Police Office, Bacolod Traffic Authority/Traffic Management Unit headed by P/SINSP. Levy G. Pangue and personnel together with the Bantay Banwa Group, Traffic Policemen, Traffic Enforcers , Special Team, NGO’s and PO’s launched the Operation Task Force “LIDA” -Limpio Dalan” against erring drivers and all traffic violators of the streets of Bacolod City yesterday. Two PNP Mobile Car No. 6 will be manned by the Bantay Banwa Group while PNP Mobile Car No. 9 will be manned by our able bodied Traffic Policemen and Traffic enforcers and the forthcoming Towing Cars will be the latest equipment in spearheading the traffic management and improvement of the traffic situation in Bacolod City.
