Gabriela Says PGMA Might Call Martial Law
By Owen S. Bayog

Members of the Militant women’s group have called on people to be more vigilant as President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo appears desperate to cling to power and might calls failure of elections and eventually might impose Martial law. Gabriela Secretary General Ma. Rina Amacio told members of the media that there is a strong indication that PGMA is about to cross that line. She will obviously preserve her political interest after the national polls, Amacio added. "We are doubtful about the automated polls as this will not spare people or politicians what will cheat and those who will engage in unfair election practices such as vote buying," said Nenita Cherniguin of the Gabriela Women’s party.
