Motorcycle Riding Men Collide With Ceres Bus in Manapla, 1 Killed
A driver was killed and his backrider injured when their driven motorcycle collided with a Ceres bus around 12:10 p.m. Tuesday along corner Lacson-Gustilo Streets, Barangay 2-A in Manapla town.
Chief Inspector Edencio Gregorio, Manapla PNP chief identified the victim as John Michael Conol, single, of legal age, resident of Punta Mesa in the town.
Conol sustained head and body injuries and was declared dead on arrival at the town’s Municipal Health Office.
The victim was driving a Rusi 110 motorcycle with backrider identified as Randy Divinagracia Bonda, single, also of Barangay Punta Mesa. He was injured and brought to Municipal Health Office and later transferred to Teresita Jalandoni Memorial Provincial Hospital in Silay City.
Lucibar Alquezar Vergara, 47, married, of Barangay Agpangi, Calatrava town was detained after the incident.
He told police investigator that he was driving the bus from east to west when they collided at the corner street, while the motorcycle was speeding toward south.
Police is now investigating the incident.*
