‘Learning Continues in the Outside World’ – Coun. Kalaw to CHMSC-Alijis Grads

Councilor Claudio Jesus “Kalaw” Puentevella graced the Recognition Day of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC)–Alijis Campus as their Guest of Honor and Speaker last Tuesday, March 24, 2015 with the theme, “CHMSC Excels: Attaining Global Competence Through Relevant Education”.

With over 300 students and members of the academe in attendance, Puentevella focused on the theme, stressing that to be globally competitive, one must be flexible and versatile enough to excel in academic and extra-curricular activities.

“Learning must not be confined in the four corners of the classroom and it does not end in graduation; learning continues in the outside world,” the Councilor added.

A sports scholar during his High School years, Puentevella recognized the role of teachers and parents in molding the students in their quest for excellence. He added that the City Government, through the leadership of Mayor Monico Puentevella is doing their best to provide employment opportunities for graduating students as well as graduates in the coming years.* (CMO-PIO)
