Ambulance Injures A Pedestrian
A sexagenarian sustained injuries when an ambulance hit him as he crossed the street fronting a public market in Brgy. 2, La Carlota City, 5:30 PM last Wednesday.
Traffic police report identified the victim as Selvino Española, 67, of Sitio Abaca, Brgy. Ayungon.
Initial investigation revealed that Española was crossing the street from West to East direction when the City’s Rescue Unit Van with plate number SGF 578 driven by Winston Aurelio running North to South accidentally bumped the victim causing him to fall and hit his head on the pavement.
He was immediately rushed to Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial Hospital (DSBMH) by a separate Rescue Unit for medical treatment.
Aurelio was detained for investigation by PO3 Lemery G. Gipanago and his vehicle placed under police custody.
Meanwhile, an XRM motorcycle driven by Harry Gamboa, 27, of Bago City was travelling along the highway of Brgy. Ayungon in La Carlota City when Gamboa accidentally bumped 60-year old Estela Catalino.
Catalino was also rushed to DSBMH for treatment; while further probe is underway.* (RRM)
