F amily and friends from all over gathered at Planta Hotel & Residences last September 25, 2008 to celebrate a milestone for Gregoria “Nene” Tupas. Her children, Bingbing, Judy and Therese who are based in the United States came home to Bacolod to be with their mother on her special day. Relatives from north and south of the Negros island came in full force, from the Javellanas of Bago to the Tupas, Cuevas, Maranons, and Sarrosas of Sagay.

A thanksgiving mass was presided by Msgr. Vic Rivas before dinner. A dance number was performed by her grandchildren Abigail Nikki and Angel, and she was surprised by her Casa Maria household who gave her a song number “Young at Heart”. A Beijing Olympics inspired audio visual presentation was shown as a tribute to the matriarch.
