Motorcycle driver killed in Bago mishap  

A motorcycle driver was killed when he bumped a parked Mitsubishi cargo truck along the highway in Purok Ramos, Barangay Tabunan, Bago City around 7:00 p.m. Sunday.

Police Chief Inspector Joeffer Cabural, Bago PNP chief identified the victim as Ronel Francisco Aspan, 46, married, of Purok Dulao Proper, Barangay Dulao, Bago. He was driving his Motorstar motorcycle running from west to east when he bumped the rear portion of the cargo truck parked along the shoulder of the highway in the area.

Another one commits suicide in Negros Occ.

It seems like suicide cases in Negros Occidental have become a daily occurence.

Another Negrosanon, this time a man committed suicide by shooting himself in Sitio Calapnagan in Barangay Biak-na-Bato in La Castellana town Friday night.

Police Chief Inspector Irma Teoxon, La Castellana PNP chief identified the victim as Ruth John De la Cruz Panes, 30 and resident of the place.

He was found dead by his live-in partner, Jane Karen Roquero Cordero, 25, resident of Barangay Sagasa, Bago City and presently residing at Sitio Calapnagan.

Lights of Bago photo contest winners named

The Bago City Government recently awarded the winners of the Lights of Bago Photo Contest which is in line with the 10th Lights of Bago Synchronized Fireworks Show, aptly themed, “Peace, Love and Unity”.

For the conventional category, Toni Rose Burgos garnered first place, Quino Yao ranked second and Erwin Lim was declared as third placer.

Runners-up include John Kimwell Laluma, Famelyn Villiarias, Voltaire Siacor, Jimbo Araneta and Romil Bernaje.

The said category includes photos taken using digital single lens reflex (DSLR) cameras.

3 killed in separate mishaps

Three persons were killed in separate traffic accidents in Himamaylan City and Bago City on Saturday; and in Moises Padilla on Friday.

Police identified the victims as Rodolfo Boga Cangayda, 26, of Ilog town in Negros Occidental; Vicente Bebar Dizon, 43, married, of Purok Bagong Silang, Barangay Ma-ao, Bago and Randy Belarga Martinez, 22, single, driver of motorcycle in Moises Padilla.

Police Chief Inspector Antonio Benitez, Jr., Himamaylan PNP chief said that incident happened at Bangga 3C, Barangay IV, Himamaylan 8:20 p.m. Saturday.

2 persons found dead

Two persons were found dead Friday - one in the middle of a sugarcane field in Hacienda Alipion in Barangay Lalagsan, La Castellana, and the other one in Purok Mainogyunon in Barangay Napoles, in Bago City.

In La Castellana, Police Chief Inspector Irma Teoxon, OIC police chief , identified the victim as Rodelio Dalgos, 38, yrs. old, laborer, single and resident of Brgy, Lalagsan.

He was found by farm workers Nestor Gilua Lauren and Ernesto Batansila Estimado, both of legal age and also of Barangay Lalagsan about 3PM.
