Two Numbers, Rigor Street
July 30, 2010

Where is H. C. Rigor Street?
Is it in Bacolod, or in other city or town outside the capital?
Anybody who knows where it is, and what really is taking place there everyday?

July 28,2010

It is indeed a bigger advantage for Bacolod City and Negros Occidental alike if indeed the city’s congressman, Dr. Anthony Golez is confirmed as chairman of the House Committee on Health.
The advantages are even greater because a congressman from Guimaras is also likely to be the House Appropriations (for Health) Committee chairman.
Wrong Impressions, Wrong Perceptions About the Iglesia
July 27, 2010

At the plenary hall of the Lower House yesterday, we witnessed how Congressman Feliciano Belmonte of the 4th district of Quezon City won the Speakership with 227 votes over Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman’s 29.
The five of us mediamen from Bacolod were lucky to penetrate the session hall after making several rounds and on the spot interviews with broadcast colleagues at the different areas of the Batasan.
The SONA’s Promises for the Next 6 Years
July 26, 2010

Yesterday we personally saw, again, how the floods stalled traffic and disturbed the daily routine of people in several Metro Manila areas.
On our way to Ortigas area from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after our arrival at lunch time, we opted to take different routes to avoid the traffic standstill due to flooded streets caused by the heavy downpour.
Baciwa Water, Ceneco Power, Your Own Number
July 24, 2010

Yesterday I asked a telecommunications company software engineer about the possibility of our cellphone number being hacked and used to contact others.
I asked Margie about this because it is now very common in our e-mails that we get mails from those using our own email addresses.
Will we also see one day that our own cellphone numbers will be used to contact our friends and even ourselves even if we did not do so through our own mobile?
School Mosquito Nets, Vendors’, Drivers’ Tax
July 23, 2010

Before the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) clamps on the lowly passenger vehicle drivers and market vendors for additional taxes, it must look deeper into how it can improve its tax collection measures and how to plug leakages.
It must look deeper into the corporate world for the right taxes, while peeping into the lifestyle and properties of its personnel as well as those of the Bureau of Customs (BoC).
Discon Mobile, Casual Workers
July 22, 2010

Casual employees under the Bacolod City government can always have two options— whether to keep reporting to work even without any appointment and just cross fingers they will be paid, or find another job.
I was told yesterday at Lopue’s East by some "hanging" city employees that despite assurances there is a higher chance they will no longer be hired.
The Army at H.O.P.E. Medical Mission Series, The Fact-Finding Pun

July 27, a Tuesday, will be a national working holiday in commemoration of the 96th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) in the country.
It was declared since last year that the date will be known the "Iglesia Ni Cristo Day", although the celebration is worldwide as the church has reached the entire world.

Bacolod Businesses on Crimes, Flyovers
July 20, 2010

The early Sunday morning accident that killed nurses Jasper De Paula and Judielyn Dela Paz at Burgos Extension in Bacolod was very unfortunate to say the least.
The 3 o’clock accident involved the motorcycle the two nurses, in their 20s, were riding in tandem, and a Nissan Sentra Sedan driven by 43-year old Ruth Cordova.
