Shabu seized from a woman

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Oriental and Dumaguete City Special Operation Group arrested a woman in a drug bust in Purok Gumamela, Sitio Canday-ong, Barangay Calindagan, Dumaguete City Friday.

The PDEA, led by Agent Jason Cabatana and the PNP-SOG by Senior Inspector Arnel Von Alegria arrested Mary Ann Pondoyo Pines “Alias Ana”, 25, single, resident of the place.

Ten big sachets of suspected shabu were confiscated from her weighing about 51 grams with estimated market value of P357, 000.

3 Drug suspects nabbed

Three suspects were arrested in a drug bust in Barangay 2, Bais City, Negros Oriental around 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Police identified the suspects as Vanessa Antiporda Garcia, of Bais; SJ Gutierrez and Edgar Tobiah Muñoz, both of Tanjay, Negros Oriental.

The suspects were arrested in joint police and PDEA-Negros Oriental operation led by SPO1 Dickmar Gornez of Tanjay PNP under supervision of Superintendent Frankie Lugo.

Person missing during storm

A resident of Sitio Mantawigon, Barangay Macasilao, Calatrava town was reported missing around 3:00 a.m. Monday at the height of typhoon Agaton.

Police Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan, Calatrava PNP OIC police chief identified the victim as Eric Palabrica Villarito, 27, single, resident of the place.

His father Jerry Salumag Villarito told police that his son was wearing red sleeveless black jersey and is about five feet in height.

Village chief shot dead in Sta. Catalina

Unidentified suspect shot dead a Village Chief in Barangay Poblacion in Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Police identified the victim as Leonardo Margasenio, of legal age, married, of Barangay Nagbinlod, Sta. Catalina town.

Margasenio was attending an ABC Night held at Rizal Park in Barangay Poblacion, Sta. Catalina, when he was shot by a suspect hitting his chest that caused his instantaneous death.

The victim was brought to Bayawan District Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Man shot dead

A man was shot dead by unidentified persons while on his way home around 6:45 a.m. Sunday in Barangay Tandayag, Amlan town, Negros Oriental.

Police identified the victim as Edito Barillo, Jr., of legal age, resident of the place.

He sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the body from unknown caliber of firearm and was rushed to the nearest hospital, but was declared dead on arrival by attending physician.

Amlan police is still conducting investigation of the case for possible identity of the suspect and his motive.*(CMG)
