PDEA nabs 7 drug suspects; P150K worth shabu seized
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Bacolod Field Office arrested seven drug suspects including a minor in a raid about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Brgy. 2, Bacolod City.
The operation of PDEA is a high impact operation against high value target identified as Carlos Sonico, 18, single, of Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2 here.
Arrested with Sonico were Kiefer Salnac, 33; Wendyl Arcenio, 21; Ernie Magbanua, 37; Kerwin Hablero, 42; Wilfredo Diaz, 44; Anthony Cadungo and a 17-year-old boy who acts as runner of the suspects in their operations.
Confiscated were about 25 sachets of suspected shabu with a market value of P150, 000.
According to PDEA Agent Jane who led the operations last night, they conducted a two-month surveillance of the target after receiving reports that the suspects were conducting illegal drug operations in the village.
Barangay 2 is a known lair of illegal drug operations in Bacolod City.
The suspects are currently detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2 for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.*(Cyrus M. Garde)
