Gunfight of 2 families2 killed, 1 hurt

Two persons were killed when a gunfight took place between two families in Sitio Baras Diutay in Barangay Bantayan, Kabankalan City Saturday afternoon.

Barangay Captain Oscar Abajon told RMN DYHB Bacolod news team, that those who got killed in the shootout were Yoyen Lutas and his 60-year-old uncle Efren Lutas.

Wounded and confine in a Bacolod hospital is Arnel Villarosa.

Abajon also told RMN reporters, that at about 2 o’clock in the afternoon of Saturday (January 27), members of the Lutas family allegedly attacked the Villarosa and Batisla-ong household, where exchange of gun fires took place.

He said the Villarosas fought back that resulted to the two Lutas family members’ death.

Yoyen Lutas was hit in the head, chest and other parts of his body.

Yesterday morning the dead body of his uncle Efren Lutas, was found some 100 meters from the house of the Villarosas.

A certain Samuel who was with them in attacking the Villarosas is still being verified.

Brgy. head Abajon also told RMN news team, that the conflict started when a melee happened at the barangay fiesta public dance on January 26, during which barangay tanod Nesto Junjun Villarosa arrested Yoyen Lutas.

Yoyen, he said was so angry for having been arrested claiming he has not done anything wrong.

“We thought all the while that the problem was already settled. We were surprised that ther Lutas family members did it,” he said in the interview of RMN Bacolod.

Tanod Junjun Villarosa turned himself in and is presently detained at the Kabankalan Police Station.

Recovered from the scene of the crime were a home-made gun (sulpak) and several 9 mm ammunitions.* (NDB)
