CIDG raids Villarosa compound Cache of firearms & ammos seized, 2 nabbed
A cache of firearms, ammunitions and grenade were seized in yesterday morning’s raid at the Villarosa residential compound in Crossing Balo, Barangay Magballo, Kabankalan City.
Operatives of the Bacolod Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), backed by Negros Occ. CIDG, Provincial Maneuver Force and Kabankalan City Police Station, nabbed Rommel Algara Villarosa, 46, married, and Romnick Andea Villarosa, 23, married, both of the place.
The joint raiding team, armed with a search warrant issued by MTCC Kabankalan Judge Jose Manuela A. Lopez for violation of Republic Act 10591 (otherwise known as Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), and RA 9516 (Unlawful Manufacture, Sales, Acquisition, Disposition, Importation or Possession of an Explosive or Incendiary Device), swooped down the Villarosa residence at about 6:30 a.m. yesterday.
In a CIDG report obtained by NDB, recovered from Rommel Villarosa were a 12-gauge shotgun, 19 live bullets for 12-gauge shotgun, three empty shells for 12-gauge shotgun, one colt MK 4 .45 caliber, one magazine for .45 caliber, one STI .45 caliber, one magazine for .45 caliber, 24 live ammunitions of .45 caliber, 25 live ammos of .45 caliber, two empty shells of cal. .45, and one fragmentation hand grenade.
The items were seized from him inside their compound.
Romnick Villarosa, meanwhile, yielded one ITHACA 9mm caliber, one magazine for cal. 9mm pistol, one ARMSCOR .38 revolver, and six live ammos for .38 revolver.
The suspects and recovered items are now under the custody of the CIDG Bacolod.*(Arman Toga)
