New Senior Citizens Office Inaugurated in La Carlota City

Take good care of your health.” Mayor Juliet Marie D. Ferrer’s words of inspiration to the thousands of senior citizens of La Carlota City during the blessings and inauguration of the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) with the Office of the Persons with Disability(OPDA) situated at Locsin-Ledesma Streets beside the City Social Welfare and Development Office in time for the celebration of the Senior Citizens Week October 8 to 9, 2015.

She added that all the social services will be accommodated on this area for their convenience and accessibility including Women’s, Children Crises Center, La Carlota City Library by next year and on the open space at the back will be their physical and sports activities. There will be an evacuation center and boxing gym at the on-going construction of the new gymnasium of La Carlota City.
The blessing was spearheaded by Mayor Ferrer, Vice-Mayor-Luis Jacky Jalandoni III, Salvador Castillon-OSCA President, Julian Bionat-FESCA President, SPM’s Dr. Rex Jalando-on, Karen Aguirre, Amalia Aguirre, Zaldy Pernito, Jose Luis Jalandoni, David T. Baga Jr., Jacob Liansing, Jaime Mariño, Manuel Badillo, Annabelle Bermudo, with former Councilors -Julian Chiang, and Richard Benedicto, Mrs. Julia M. Uy-OIC/CSWDO. Rev. Fr. Samuel John Tañoso of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiated the blessing ceremony.
Salvador B. Castillon-OSCA President, gave thanks to Mayor Ferrer and Congressman Jeffrey P. Ferrer for the laudable project they received for the benefit of the Senior Citizens of La Carlota City. “This is a blessing for us. This shows how our government officials care for us. We will maintain and take good care of this building so that this may be one of the tourist attractions of our city,” he said.
SPM Manuel Badillo-Chairman of Senior Citizens Committee in his closing remarks lauded and gave thanks for the whole-hearted support and cooperation of the city government officials and thousands of senior citizens . “Your dreams and aspiration now come into reality. This is your house which you consider your home.Take good care of it and have a happy life.”
