Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) commissioner Eric Loretizo, a Negros Press Club (NPC) member and former Sports Communicators Organization of the Philippines (SCOOP) President has accepted the invitation to grace the NPC-Coca Cola Inter-Media Bowling tournament as guest speaker.
Fifteen (15) teams lead by the Negros Press Club-SCOOP-Bacolod team will see action in the 2-day inter-media bowling on November 21-22 at Super Bowling Lanes at Goldentield Commercial Complex. The invitation was accepted by Loretizo yesterday while the committee held a meeting in preparation of said event. The committee decided to invite Loretizo as NPC member who holds very important role in sports as PSC commissioner as per agreement with the sponsoring entity, Coca-Cola.
Panay News, Negros Daily Bulletin, Visayan Daily Star, DYWB-Bombo, DYRL-Ab-yan Radyo, Sunshine Channel and Negros Weekly have submitted their lineups composed of ten members only.
Sunstar Bacolod, Agila, ABS-CBN, Action Radio Playboys, RMN-DYHB, RPN-DYKB and the powerhouse sponsor Coca Cola bowling team complete the cast which will play a 5-game series split in two days.
Tournament chairman Henceboy Cestina, in a meeting with team representatives yesterday, said that a motorcade from the NPC office on Saturday at 1 p.m. starts the activity. Participants are advised to assemble at the media center at 12 noon.
A brief opening ceremony is set at 1:30 p.m. with messages from NPC president Edgar Cadagat and the Coca Cola executive incharge of the project.
Tournament format calls for a 5-game series with the top four teams garnering the highest pinfalls to dispute the championship in a step ladder system. Individual and team awards for highest triple and single will be given.
Highest pinning for men’s and women’s division and the top ten players will likewise be awarded during the November 22 Awards Night tentatively set at Sugarland Hotel.
The 2-day tournament is open to all reporters, writers, cameramen, anchormen, office and production staff of newspaper publications, radio and television stations.* (CMG)
