Construction Worker Shot Dead, Another Wounded
A construction worker was shot dead, while his companion was wounded when unidentified suspect waylaid them as they passed along Hacienda San Ramon, Barangay Salvacion, Murcia town around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
The victim was identified by Senior Inspector Ronald Santillan, Murcia PNP chief, as Zaldy Montes of Hacienda Linasan, Barangay Salvacion, Murcia. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the head.
Wounded was Ryan Tumpong of Barangay Alegria, Murcia. He sustained a gunshot wound on his foot.
The unidentified suspect was hiding in a canal and waited for the two to pass by. They were riding on a motorcycle driven by Tumpong who came from a wake in Barangay Sta. Cruz also in the town.
Herminia Embang, mother-in-law of Montes said that the victim went home to give his salary to his wife and go back to the wake with Tumpong.
