Minor Driver Dies in Car Crash, 68-year-old Hurt
A minor who was driving a single motorcycle with a 68-year-old backrider was killed following a collision when he made a left turn at Purok 4, Barangay Linao, Kabankalan City around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Superintendent Rhea Santos, Kabankalan City PNP chief identified the victim as Michael Rey Sanisit Tanguar, 14, of Barangay Linao.
His backrider, identified as Virginia Eligino, also of Barangay Linao, was injured.
Police traffic investigator said the victim was driving a Kawasaki DHIII motorcycle ahead of a Fuso Mini bus driven by Emmanuel Jalea Urbano, 26, of Barangay Tabugon, Kabankalan City.
Both vehicles were running on the same direction going north when the motorcycle suddenly made a left turn to Sto. Cantonog Road, Kabankalan.
The mini bus also overtook the motorcycle which caused collision among them while the motorcycle was already on the other lane.
Two passengers of the mini van including the driver fell to the ground that caused injuries to them.
They were rushed to Gomersendo Garcia Memorial Hospital in Kabankalan City, but Tanguar was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Lloyd Minia.
The mini bus driver was detained at Kabankalan City PNP.*
