CENECO Defers Collection of 8 Centavos
Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. defers its action to collect the Php232 million differential billing recovery of Kepco-Salcon Power Corporation (KSPC) for the period of July 26, 2011 to November 25, 2013 as approved by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) on June 27, 2017 docketed as ERC Case No. 2013-141 RC.
In the said order, CENECO is mandated to collect the amount at the rate of Php0.0817 per kilo watt-hour for 50 months or until the Php232 million is fully recovered.
This decision was reached after CENECO Board President Roy M. Cordova, directed Management to hold in abeyance the collection of the said amount until such time ERC could positively respond to the query sent by CENECO on October 12, 2017 seeking clarification on effectivity date of the commencement of collection.
The CENECO Board affirmed and strengthened this initiative by way of approving resolution number 11921, a “Resolution to Hold in Abeyance the Implementation of Said ERC Decision on KSPC-CENECO 24MW Load Factor Scheme (ERC Case No. 2013-141 RC) Pending Clarification with ERC per CENECO Boad Resolution No. 11920” during its recently held regular meeting on October 17, 2017.
CENECO assures its member-consumer-owners (MCOs) that your Cooperative will not implement in the October 2017 bill the collection of P0.0817/kWh until the effectivity period to collect the first of the 50-months period is confirmed by ERC.*(PR)
