CENECO Gives Computers to Cansilayan HS

Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CENECO) in cooperation with Aboitiz Power Corporation and Aboitiz Foundation turned over 10 computer units to Department of Education (DepEd) Cansilayan National High School (CNHS) on October 15, 2015, Thursday at Purok Litik, Brgy. Cansilayan, Murcia.

Andrew Calls for Unity Among Negros Politicians

Talisay City- After the unification of the two Negros provinces into the Negros Island Region, Murcia Mayor Andrew Montelibano has called for the a unification among politicians in the province.

“It is sad that we have friends from both sides and when their is an elections, we are opposing each other, “ Montelibano said.

The mayor said that he is “really hoping for a merger.”

He pointed out that Governor Alfredo Maranon Jr., will be on his last term if he wins his reelection bid in 2016., “and he is doing a great job for the province.”

4th Brainsbee Reels Off July 5 in 3rd District

All is set for the 2014 BRAINSBEE NI ALBEE SA DISTRICT 3 come July 5 (Saturday) from 8 am to 4 pm as the first barangay elimination round will simultaneously be launched in Barangays Cansilayan and Damsite in Murcia; Barangays Cabatangan and Concepcion in Talisay; Barangays 1 and 3 in Silay City; Barangays Pasil and Alicante in E.B. Magalona; and Barangays 9 and 13 in Victorias City.

Murcia Clergy Bent on Combatting Drug Menace, Illegal Gambling

The spark between Murcia town parish priest Fr. Greg Patiño and parochial vicar Fr. Augusto Hinayan, with some pastors, and Mayor Andrew Montelibano, a scion of the Lacson and Montelibano families, is further growing, in the wake of the latter and his municipal council’s call for the priests’ ouster, due to their determined campaign against illegal drugs and various crimes in Murcia town.

Four LGUs Ink Localized Mortgage Program

The local governments of Talisay, Murcia, Victorias and E.B. Magalona entered into an agreement with the government’s Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) for the Localized Community Mortgage Program (LCMP).

Mayors Eric Saratan, Andrew Montelibano, Francis Frederick Palanca and Vice Mayor Rex Depasucat signed the agreement for Talisay, Murcia, Victorias and E.B. Magalona respectively with SHFC president Ma. Ana Oliveros.
