Two persons engaged in illegal drug trade in Barangay Villamonte were arrested in a police buy bust operation by Police Station 4, Monday night here.
Police Station 4 chief Senior Inspector John Ganzon and his Deputy Police Inspector Wilfredo Gilongos swooped down on the house occupied by suspects Ariel Cordova, 20 years old and Odelio Corpuz, 39 years old, both of Purok Bayanihan, Barangay Villamonte about 6 p.m., Monday.
Police operatives conducted surveillance operation against the suspects and the test buy turned positive prompting the police to conduct buy bust with an undercover agent.
Confiscated from Cordova was one small sachet of suspected shabu in exchange for P200 marked money and two elongated sachets of suspected shabu.
Corpuz, on the other hand, yielded one long and three small heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu, two improvised straw scoop, one cellphone and other drug paraphernalia.
This operation came following the arrest of Muslim traders of RTW beside the Old City Hall Sunday evening by the Regional Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Group.
Superintendent Leonardo Angcon and elements of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Police Station 1 arrested Mohammad Faizal, alias “Amil”, 36 years old and residing in Barangay 16 here; Saad Mangutara, 33 years old, of J.R. Torres Subdivision, Barangay Singcang-Airport and Jonathan Jara.
Two plastic sachets of suspected shabu were recovered from them in exchange of P1, 000 marked money.
Mangutara and Jara served as runners of Faizal in his illegal drug activities, Angcon said, adding that the operation was conducted after two weeks of surveillance on the suspects.* (Cyrus M. Garde).
